The broad applicability of Cibus’ technologies is highlighted by the company’s strain-advancement program, which develops sustainable products in microbial platforms for the food, flavor and fragrance, and personal care markets.

Cibus has an immediate opening for a Senior Tech Transfer Associate. This position will be a part of a team focused on scaling our trait production pipeline utilizing state of the art gene editing technology. The position requires a BS degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience at a similar level required.

The successful applicant will support Trait Machine Cell Biology Production operations and development of a high throughput cell culture platform supporting its patented RTDSTM gene editing technologies. This position will play a significant role in building and implementing a vision of a robust, scalable cell biology processes for gene editing production platform by participating on a multi-disciplinary team focused on the development, validation, and implementation of a high-throughput gene editing process.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and validation of tech transfer SOPs.
  • Manage own tasks and assignments as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental data and results.
  • Apply working knowledge of scientific principles to execute tasks and procedures related to tech transfer activities.
  • Provide input and influence project direction through active participation and contribution to team discussions and meetings.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and recommend the future direction of work to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Proactively communicate and provide updates to supervisors and cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, aseptic techniques and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience at a similar level.
  • Applied working knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office suites.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide input and influence project direction.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage their own tasks and assignments under the guidance of their immediate supervisor.
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment and cross functionally.
  • Previous experience in plant cell biology or related field is highly desirable.
