Cibus has an immediate opening for a Regulatory Compliance Specialist. In this capacity you will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of Cibus’ Regulatory Compliance Program and related regulatory activities. To be successful, you will work closely with Cibus Research, Product Development, and Operations Teams to plan and execute regulated activities, including domestic and international shipments. You will be responsible for acquiring permits, compiling regulatory compliance documentation, and reporting to government agencies. You will provide regulatory compliance guidance to internal stakeholders and be actively involved in the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure Cibus remains in compliance with applicable state, federal, and international regulations. This role requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail as well as ability to clearly communicate both internally and externally. Prior experience in the agriculture industry and handling regulated material and/or familiarity with regulatory requirements is preferred.
This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role that requires strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills to support and enable a robust regulatory compliance program.
Role Responsibilities:
- Enable the execution of Cibus’ Regulatory Compliance Program by providing input and oversight of R&D, product development, and commercialization activities across Cibus crop/trait portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop regulatory compliance processes and procedures for the compliant handling of Cibus and Cibus customer plant materials in alignment with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and manage the submission of regulatory permits and documentation to enable Cibus operations, including permit renewals and permit amendments, as necessary
- Prepare the team for and participate in regulatory inspections or other official engagements related to Cibus Regulatory Compliance Program, demonstrating Cibus compliance with regulatory requirements and Cibus internal standards.
- Coordinate the import and export of regulated plant materials with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Legal, Regulatory, and Quality teams to support tracking and organization of associated regulatory information and documentation.
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Cibus customers, industry, and government representatives.
- Remain aware and current on regulatory requirements impacting the agriculture industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, plant science, molecular biology, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in agriculture operations, seed production, breeding, plant science, or related areas.
- Ability to read, write, and understand SOPs, work instructions, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Hands on experience with managing and communicating data and information to support business decision making.
- Strong collaborative relationship skills and demonstrated ability to drive outcomes both individually and within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leads by example and willing to work side-by-side with peers while using positive approaches to establish a professional environment of trust, respect, and collaboration.
